13 Oct 5 secrets to recognize high quality clothes
High fashion showrooms, exclusive overviews, on-line sales: when a dress with a particular shape or design, in a colour we like catches our attention, are we sure about our ability to value if it is a good deal? Is the dress we are handling or admiring on our monitor, tablet or mobile of high quality? It it an occasion or we risk to buy another useless and valueless garment? Remember that “bung for the buck” doesn’t always work with dresses: quality costs, cheap garments inevitably will reveal their low value.
The first rule is thus never believe that “top ones” garments can be sold at low prices.
The second one is to learn to control the quality starting from small particulars. First of all, the stitching lines: are they regular and equidistant? How many stitches per centimeter you count? 8? Well, you are handling a good quality dress, otherwise if you can see only 3 stitches it means it’s an oriental product and thus “bye bye made in Italy” .. 5 stitches means medium quality production.
The third secret concerns what we define “the critical parts” of a garment, that’s to say above and under the sleeves or the crotch of pants: the stitches of a good quality garment must follow the model’s curves.
The fourth rule: you need to touch the internal and external fabric to test the softness.
Finally, read the label and check the origin, the materials, the washing instructions and if the name of the stylist or the brand is specified.
Be wary of imitations, you are unique.
